CCS Community

Stakeholder Relations CCS

Cemex seeks to exchange ideas, close ranks and reach compromises with key stakeholders on the topic of CCS.

Knowledge Stakeholders

Only with a connection to science can we develop solutions that reflect the current state of research. Only with the help of experts can we realize our project beyond our core competence (cement production).

Industrial Stakeholders

By sharing experiences and evaluations together with other industrial companies, standards can be established, repetition errors avoided, successes scaled and joint recommendations for action derived.

Political Stakeholders

By describing practices and problems to legislative institutions, important regulatory measures can be obtained, e.g. the possibility of underground CO₂ storage in Germany.

Civil Stakeholders

Publicizing CCS projects to the public, including all planned CO₂ capture, transport and storage processes as well as their risks and compensation measures, can strengthen social acceptance.

Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU)

Cemex provides practical relevance for some seminars and research projects at BTU Cottbus. Both sides benefit from the collaboration. Cemex receives valuable research results, and students gain valuable insights into industrial production and processes.
